Item level (IL) is the level of a player's gear. Items with a high item level more often are stronger than those with a low item level. While some high-level weapons and gear can be crafted or purchased in stores, the majority can be obtained in exchange for Allagan tomestones - special drops that can be found in instanced dungeons, raids, and on the Hunt. Tomestones can be exchanged in Revenant's Toll for better equipment.
